About Us

Ashlands Veterinary Centre was set up in 1991 by Geoff and Geraldine Hale with Pam Braithwaite. Pam retired from general practice in 1995.

Anne and Andy MacGregor bought Ashlands in 2000 and took over on 3rd March of that year. Together they opened a fully equipped surgery in Glusburn in June 2004. In 2014 they took on a small branch in Skipton from Cats Only, and in 2016 refubished Rock Villa at the entrance to Tesco to provide larger premises.

The practice has grown from 1 vet, 2 qualified VNs and 1 trainee in 2000 to 13 vets including a surgical certificate holder, a medicine certificate holder, a cardiology certificate holder and a feline medicine certificate holder, two other vets are studying for certificates, 15 Registered vet nurses, 3 trainee VNs, 2 VCAs 15 receptionists, an accounts manager, an insurance coordinator, practice manager, deputy practice manager, nurse manager, client services manager and handyperson in 2022.

The aim for the future is to open a purpose built Veterinary Hospital in Ilkley with all modern facilities with an onsite dedicated 24hr hospital team so that Ashlands Veterinary Centre can offer the very best Veterinary care in the area.
