Ashland Vets’ History

Set up in 1991 by Geoff and Geraldine Hale together with Pam Braithwaite, Ashlands Veterinary Centre has long been part of the community.

Pam retired in 1995 and five years later the practice was bought by Anne and Andy MacGregor who in June 2004 opened a surgery in Glusburn.

Steve Kirby joined as a partner in 2012, and between them in 2014 they took over a small branch in Skipton from Cats Only, two years later opening an enhanced surgery, Rock Villa, at the entrance to the town’s Tesco store.

The practice has grown since 2000 from one vet, two qualified veterinary nurses and one trainee to the thriving operation it is today with 15 vets including a surgical certificate holder, a medicine certificate holder, a cardiology certificate holder and a feline medicine certificate holder, two other vets are studying for certificates, 15 Registered vet nurses, 3 trainee VNs, 2 VCAs, 15 receptionists, an accounts manager, an insurance coordinator, practice manager, deputy practice manager, nurse manager, client services manager and handyperson today.

In 2016 Ashlands became part of the VetPartners group which owns some of the UK’s most trusted and respected vet practices.
